Ever since becoming a mum I haven't had a full night sleep and after a few days into motherhood I noticed dark circles and puffiness. Two years later I unfortunately still have it and what I use to cancel out the dark circles is by using orange eye makeup corrector, concealer and patting translated powder under my eyes. But let's be honest no one has time for that EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Even if I do have the time, I sometimes simply cannot be bothered to go through the whole process. So I hoped online to find any cream, serum or anything that would help cancel the puffiness and dark circles around my eyes - over $60 for a small tube? Do I really want to spend over $60 on a small tube that I don't know if it will 100% work or do I spend the money on my kids? I went with my kids. Couple days later I was browsing through Pinterest and saw some DIY beauty remedies, what drawn me to it was the ingredients you need for your DIY are normally items that you would have in your pantry and if not you can pick it up from your local super market for under $5.
Disclaimer - I am not a beauty expert but I am someone who wants to share my own experiences to others and to hope help someone else out.
Getting rid of dark circles - Potatoes
That's right, you heard me - Potatoes. Potatoes have natural bleaching that can help lighten dark circles and get rid of puffiness around the eyes. What I do is I put the potato in the refrigerator and once the potato is cold I take it out of the refrigerator and slice the potato in two thick slices. This part is up to you, you can put the slice of potatoes over your eyes or under your eyes. I leave it on for 15-20 minutes. You can also use cool cucumber.
Quick and simple steps to clean my nails - Lemon
I have never gotten a manicure in Australia before, I find them a waste of money. I probably think that because in Vietnam I can get a manicure for $3AUD, so $30 seems a bit expensive compare to $3. All you need is a nail filer and a lemon. Lemon juice contains acid and so it is easy to strip off stains.
Step 1
Everyone is familiar with what is a nail filer is, so I won't go into much detail on what it does but I just file my nails into the shape and length I want my nails to be.
Step 2
This part is entirely up to you on what way you want to cut your lemon. What I do is I cut the end of the lemon off and I cut two slices. With the slice of lemon I use to clean my nails with - I gently rub the lemon onto my nails and under my nails for 10-20 seconds each nail.
Or
You can squeeze lemon juice into a bowl, and soak your nails in the bowl for 1-5 minutes - ps nail polish must be removed before soaking.
How to repair damage hair - Coconut oil
I feel like everyone knows this but I would share it with you anyways. What I do is I use 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil, and I apply it directly onto the ends of my hair and gently massage the coconut into my ends and I leave it in my hair for 30-60minutes. Hint - the longer the better but I'm a mum of two now, so I don't have more than 60 minutes of spare time. When the time is up I wash the coconut oil out of my hair and my hair feels and smells amazing after!
