HOW TO 'FIND' TIME

Lately I have been asked how do I find time to get ready in the morning, do housework and go for walks and on top of that take care of two kids - it's not about finding time, it's about making time. Winston and Evelyn are now little bit older and can both keep each other entertained, and it has made making time a lot more easier - but before, I used to try and find time while my kids were napping and nothing ever went to plan and then I realised by trying to find time, I wasn't going to get anything done. I always make sure there is someone (aka my partner) is able to look after the kids while I do what I need to do. When my partner isn't home, I still am able to make time. I know when my kids need to be fed, have naps and when they want to go for a walk and so I make time in between those times. It also does help a lot that I live in an opened apartment and so I can still see my kids from every room.

My advice is if you have caught yourself thinking about wanting to do all these things but you can't find the time to do anything, and then that leads to "I can't find time, therefore I am not going to bother". Your not going to get anything done because you have already made it set in your mind that you can't find the time. I have to admit it isn't easy to find time, and kids are unpredictable but once you do make time by working around your kids it then turns into a routine. End of the day you need to be motivated to make the time to do something - instead of laying in bed thinking when can you find the time to have a shower, workout or do housework. If it means I need to get up one or two hours before my kids wake up to get ready or stay up later to do house work or do what I need to do I will. Moral of the story is if you want to have time to do things, you need to allow yourself to make time and by doing that you need to also make an effort to have time instead of trying to find time.

Example: You're wanting to work out, but you remembered you have kids and automatically you feel like you don't have the time to workout and so you try to find time. Don't find time, make time - even if it means you need to get up super early, workout late or wait for someone to take care of your kids.

DON'T FIND TIME, MAKE TIME!
