Please introduce yourself -

Ney Lam, mommy to two – one 2 year old boy and 6 month old girl <3 Married to an incredible, patient and supporting man.

Who came up with the name for your little ones and why?

Boy: Ryder De Lam– Hubby and I were going on our babymoon to San Diego and saw the “Ryder” truck and that name stood out to the both of us. It was the first name we agreed! Middle name is named after my husband’s grandfather, who passed away a couple of days after he found out we were expecting.

Girl: Autumn Harper Lam – Hubby loved the name Autumn, and Harper came from her godmother.

Did you have a good pregnancy?

My pregnancy with Ryder was good. I didn’t have too much sickness and I was surpringlsy nicer then I normally am (lol!) but with Autumn, I was sick ALL THE TIME and my body felt so weak and broken! It hurt to walk, lay, move, breathe…I was so over being pregnant!!

Where were you and what was your first reaction when you found out you were pregnant?

When I found out I was pregnant with Ryder, I was at home. I had just finish taking a long bath to relax. We had plans to go up north to visit my brother for the weekend and we knew we would be drinking so I said I was just going to take a test just to make sure because I didn’t want to drink heavily and then find out I was pregnant. Low & behold, I was pregnant with Ryder!

When I found out I was pregnant with Autumn, - I was out to brunch with my girlfriends and we had couple of mimosas. I ended up barfing all night and all through the next morning, which was out of the norm for me! I took a test and found out I was pregnant! Wow, I sound like such an alky!

What has changed the most since becoming a mother?

The thing that changed the most is my perspective on life. Literally, nothing else matters. Nothing. Nothing but my kids.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your babies for the first time?

When I first met Ryder, I cried. And cried. And my first words we’re “He’s so cute” and then I cried some more. My heart, my life, everything just felt so different the second I held him in my arms. I also cried with Autumn, and I kissed her immediately and told her she looks just like mommy. I would never believe the feeling I felt after giving birth. People paint it to be such a scary picture, but I love every second of it.

Has your lifestyle change drastically after having your kids?

My life has changed! I live, sleep, breathe my children. And, my liquor tolerance dropped like crazy! I get drunk way too fast to enjoy a drink now! Boo!

What do you miss the most since becoming a mother?

What I miss most …hands down, SLEEP!

What do you love about being a mother?

EVERYTHING. I’m no supermom. There are days I want to sit and cry and pull my hair out. But at the end of the day, when my babies are asleep and the house is so quiet, I miss them so much that I go and lay next to them and just stare at them sleep. CREEPY, I know. But I’m obsessed J

Advice for soon to be mothers or already mothers?

SLEEP! Sleep even if you’re not sleepy! Lol because once these little sleep thieves come, you’ll never see it again.
