PREGNANCY NUMBER TWO

While still adjusting to my new role as a mother to my 7 month old son, I wasn't expecting to get pregnant any time soon. Two weeks before I found out I was pregnant, I remember feeling extremely hormonal, and exhausted and feeling nauseas and I thought I might be getting my period. Two weeks later, I finally brought the home pregnancy test, and two blue lines appeared and to be honest I was freaking out. All I could think of in the moment was Winston still being so young, and I was scared I wouldn't be able to give him the attention he needs because I might be too exhausted or preparing for baby number two.
This pregnancy went a lot quicker than my first. When it got closer to the due date, I started to worry about my son and how he will react to the new baby and me possibly being away from him for more than 48 hours because the longest time we have been apart from each other has been 3 hours. My biggest concern was he was still breastfed, and he didn't look like he was ready to wean off any time soon. ONE WEEK BEFORE THE DUE DATE It was 8:30pm and I was sitting on the lounge watching a movie with my legs crossed, eating a tub of Ben & Jerry's and all of a sudden a burst of fluid came out and I thought to myself my water either broke or I wee'd myself. I turned to my partner and said "I think my water just broke because I defiantly did not just wee'd myself". As I got up, more fluid was gushing out and I went straight to the bathroom and called the midwife. We didn't leave home until 9:30pm because we had to wait for my partners parents to come over to look after Winston. We arrived to the hospital at 10:00pm to see the midwife, and I spent two hours hours being monitored and because my contractions weren't closed enough I got sent home. I went straight to bed and 20 minutes later I started to wake up every 5 minutes with contractions. It was now 3:00am, I woke up my partner and I told him it was time. We arrived to the hospital at 3:30am, and I was 5cm dilated. After three pushes Evelyn arrived safely into the world at 7:30am on the 30/12/2015, weighing at 3.5kg and 51cm long.
